A stone town of pristine beauty close to the sea
Bale is located in the western coastal region of Istria close to Rovinj, Vodnjan and Svetvinčenat, at an elevation of 140 metres on Mon Perin Hill. The sea is five kilometres away behind olive groves, vineyards and fields.
The historic centre of Bale is protected by law because of the historical and architectural value of its sacredal buildings, such as the Parish Church of St. Julian, the town gate, its circular stone-paved streets, and buildings with elements of Venetian Gothic. The Gothic-Renaissance Soardo-Bembo Castle, which dominates the view of Bale, is particularly interesting.
A visit to Bale at any time of the year is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the town's peaceful atmosphere while you walk along its stone-paved streets and admire the historic buildings, or enjoy your favourite drink in one of its charming cafés.
